We ask scientists “What are you optimistic about?” And they tell us.

So far, we’ve asked this question of some 130 scientists, and have published what they say in books, in video interviews and on this website — and why the scientists’ perspective matters is here.

Some of work is under the heading of ‘narrativium’, using the arts to get over the info-dense stuff of scientific endeavour. Sounds complicated? Actually huge fun and gets us staging stuff, singing and dancing with all sorts of creative people. Our latest: The Hand That Feeds, a musical about food crime.

We also set up a New Optimists Forum where scientists from diverse disciplines give their informed perspective on the huge challenges facing humanity in the 21st century.

Spin-offs are listed here.

All these activities are part of a not-for-profit legal structure (actually a CIC) founded by Kate Cooper.
