The Birmingham 2050 Scenarios Project

We set up The New Optimists Forum as a means for regional scientists to inform socio-political decision-making, and began the Birmingham 2050 Scenarios Project.

We began with possible food futures for the city in 2011. After a series of events spanning an 18-month period, we published the Birmingham 2050 Scenarios Project Report in June 2013; these are the wonderful people who contributed to it.

It’s also had some great spin-offs, notably Growing Birmingham, the Birmingham Food Council and our contribution to the Elliott Review into the integrity and assurance of the food supply network.

And because we began to think of ways to generate ‘stories from the future’ based on the scientists’ work, we set up the Narrativium Projects to make them happen.
