Russell Beale
Computers are transforming the nature of our experience of the world — and is making it a better place for all of us. So argues Russell Beale who leads the Birmingham Advanced Interaction Group in the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham and co-author of the book Human-Computer Interaction.
A Face to Face interview with Russell can be viewed on our YouTube channel here. He is also regular blogger on the New Optimists/ Birmingham Post Science Blog.
As well as being a full-time academic, Russell has founded four companies and runs two of them, provides consultancy services on projects he’s interested in, and used to race yachts competitively until a toddler and infant twins needed his attention — but once they’ve learned to sail, he’ll return to that as well.
Russell was also one of the panelists for a New Optimists 2010 British Science Festival event chaired by Sue Beardsmore.
