Dr Peter Lee is based in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham. During 2007-2010, he was the Director of the Centre of Urban and Regional Studies (CURS) at Birmingham Business School.
His research interests are about the interplay between people and place-based social exclusion, with a particular interest on housing policy, markets and regional spatial planning. He’s also interested in how food relates to processes of loss and exclusion in the planning of a city, and foodways and food architecture shape social cohesion as well as exclusion.
His research includes work on the EPSRC project awarded to the university in 2012: Open Source Food Distribution: Delivering Distributed Food Manufacture to Enhance Resilience.
