Nicci MacLeod

Dr Nicci Macleod is a forensic linguistics specialist working at the Centre of Forensic Linguistics at Aston University.

She is carrying out the linguistic analysis of the audio and other materials generated at the New Optimists Forum events. She’s also blogging about her analyses as she does the work.

She has a BA in English Language from the University of Wales, Bangor, an MA (Distinction) in Forensic Linguistics from Cardiff University – where she was also awarded the Dell Hymes Commendation for Sociolinguistics – and a PhD from Aston University.

Her research interests lie in the manifestation of power through linguistic structures, particularly in legal and investigative contexts.
