Dr Mike Hardman is a geographer at Birmingham City University, undertaking both teaching and research.
His research interests are in urban agriculture including guerrilla gardening, ecosystems and in connecting communities. Among other academic interests, he is the researcher and co-organiser of Carrot City UK with Professor P J Larkham, a WG Member of the European COST (Cooperation in Science and Technology) Urban Agriculture Europe (UAE).
With a first degree in geography, and an MA The Contemporary City, he obtained his PhD, The Secret Life of Guerrilla Gardeners in 2012.
He is also a regular contributor to the GrowingBirmingham.org website, providing a research perspective to local food growing initiatives.
