Eugenio Sanchez-Moran

Dr Eugenio Sanchez Moran, a plant scientist, is based in the School of Biosciences at the University of Birmingham.

With a first degree and a PhD from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, he arrived at the University of Birmingham on a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship. In 2008, he was awarded the prestigious BBSRC David Phillips Fellowship, made to scientists who have demonstrated high potential and wish to establish themselves as independent researchers.

His particular research interests are in the organisation and behaviour of chromosomes in plant meiosis (cell division necessary for sexual reproduction).

He is also among the first group of people to participate in the New Optimists Forum.
